The rate of acceleration in the open source world is far beyond that of the proprietary world. Of course large pools of money keep the proprietary vendors afloat and will for many years to come. However, closed institutions will eventually be unable to keep up with the rate of change regardless of how many developers they hire .

The Reality About Racism

Like it or not, generalisation is a social survival tool. Humans may gradually improve their interaction skills but even if we were all the same colour and spoke the same language, we would eventually devise other justifications for segregation. Racism doesn't really exist at all, what we refer to as racism is in my opinion; culturalism. We simply associate physical aspects with the cultural generalisations we create.

Aliens Probably Exist

If you spend a bit of time looking into the topic of extraterrestrial beings you would probably also conclude that the evidence supporting the case is almost overwhelming. It really is pervasive enough that it doesn't require extensive research to be able to sift through the inconsistencies and discover the reality of the situation.

Utopia

Sometimes i want nothing more than to see the free market system burn but my impatience is unwarranted, the current system needs to run its course but it's end is inevitable. The financial industry, the legal industry, the arms industry, etcetera will all eventually disappear, not by force but through natural and predictable obsolescence.

Facebook recently censored an image entitled "Ema" by Gerhard Richter because it contained nudity. I'm curious to find out what might happen to an image of L'Origine du monde by Gustave Courbet.

I Stand With Iran

The Semitic people are a diverse group of talented and intelligent people. Israel deserves a chance to exist among the nations of the world in peace and mutual prosperity. The people of Israel have a right to live without fear of attack or oppression but they also have the responsibility not to encroach on the equal rights of their neighbours.

Can Ubuntu Phone Compete?

Ubuntu Phone The common perspective at the moment is that the smartphone market is saturated by iOS and Android with any scraps being gobbled up by Blackberry and Windows Phone. A different perspective is that device manufacturers love the freedom that Android affords but they don't like the fact that it's getting difficult to differentiate their devices. Android has a monopoly over the open phone OS market at the moment.
