If one truly believes in the free market system then so should they support unpaid labour (slavery). If both parties consent to the exchange of labour for food and lodging then under a truly free market, that should be allowed. By interfering with that trade through government regulations (socialism) or the like, one is stifling the natural balancing effect of the theoretical "invisible hand". To put it bluntly, you either support slavery in a market system or you support the abolition of slavery through socialist means.

Inequality is ultimately a self sufficiency problem which is a result of lack of education. The relatively high distribution of education in the 20th century can be credited for the ramp in technological progress but still so many people on Earth suffer while the privileged few live in a world of relative opulence that the kings and emperors of the past could never have imagined.

Happiness is like money, it's a means to an end and is not an end in itself. And like money, if your ultimate goal is to acquire it you'll probably become a terrible person, treading on everything around you to get it. Likewise, if you sacrifice your happiness for the sake of others, they may end up walking all over you. Balance is key.

The free market system depends on competition to balance cost and quality and to ultimately create efficient production. That's the ideal behind it. But in order for any competition to produce reliable "winners" the judges need to be well educated in the subject matter. In the case of a free market socio-economic system the "judges" (aka the citizens) are themselves in competition to earn "votes" (aka money). For this reason people simply don't have time to educate themselves sufficiently when they're trying to earn "votes" needed to increase their own influence.

We tend to structure human society according to the rules of "survival of the fittest". This may have been necessary for us over the millennia and it may arguably still be necessary for us right now but at some point we need to take advantage of our analytical conciousness and properly design an efficient society.

You start off distributed, then you centralise, then you decentralise. We tend to think of our world in terms of an order/disorder dichotomy. Anything that isn't heirarchy based order is seen as disorder which is why the word "anarchy" is often mistakenly defined as chaos or disorder.

Eventually, the general attitude towards the free market system will be as widely negative as today's attitude towards communism is. The failure of a system that relies on exponential consumption growth of finite resources is inevitable. Marketing is of course the core of a "market" system and as long as you can convince people that the solution to systemic problems is to increasingly feed the system that caused those problems, people will continue to support that system up to and often beyond the point at which their very survival is at stake.

I've made many predictions, many of which are completely off the mark. One of them however is almost guaranteed in my opinion: massive, modular, 3D printed mega-buildings. In the not too distant future we will all be living in self sufficient mega-buildings. One structure will contain city sized populations along with all the businesses, utilities and recreational facilities one would expect in a city and they will be able to be built, repaired and expanded relatively quickly and easily. These advanced construction processes will lay the foundations for a very bright future indeed.

Blame is an attempt to determine who should pay reparations for something that has gone wrong. By sending people to jail we are essentially passing our shared responsibility of social stability on to an individual who can arguably be considered a victim themselves.

Confessions of an Economic Hit Man by John Perkins is a book which explains the inner workings of a capitalist empire. Creditism is a mechanism used to instill materialistic values which creates slavery through debt. A communist world is a one which has overcome materialism and values the well being of community and environment. The acquisition of resources is merely a means to achieve communal and environmental well being.

Anyone who claims to be against communism is either misinformed, irrational or simply apathetic. Not wanting to live in a free, equal and abundant society is akin to not wanting to live a healthy life. Apathy may be more inviting than the effort required for good health but even the apathetic acknowledge the trade-offs.

I tried to buy Bitcon in early 2012 for around R150 for 1 Bitcoin. I was prepared to buy around 20 Bitcoin at the time. Despite my best effort i was unable to get hold of them because Bitcoin exchanges don't accept credit cards and my bank refused to process the international transaction without a personalised invoice from the Bitcoin exchange. So i left it at that, hoping Bitcoin would become more accessible as time passed.

The word Singularity is to technology as the word Utopia is to society. Additionally, society and technology are inseparable. An absolute Utopia will never exist, likewise the Singularity is not an end, it's simply a new plateau. Once we reach the Singularity the world will be profoundly different, we'll be at whole new level of existence. Issues of health, poverty, politics, etcetera will be gone but we'll face a whole new set of challenges.

The free market system rewards exceptional individuals who might have been oppressed under previous social systems. However, the free market system does nothing to promote creative thinkers as a whole, this creates an aristocracy/slavery society, rewarding the few and forcing the rest to submit to wage slavery. This is akin to older systems like monarchy.

The word "utopia" implies a perfect society which is an oxymoron in itself because a society that stagnates is far from perfect. Like anything living; society needs to grow and adapt. The word communism also strikes fear into uninformed minds but in reality it's the sustainable approach when compared to free market capitalism or what we live in today which is creditism or wage slavery.

Sometimes i want nothing more than to see the free market system burn but my impatience is unwarranted, the current system needs to run its course but it's end is inevitable. The financial industry, the legal industry, the arms industry, etcetera will all eventually disappear, not by force but through natural and predictable obsolescence.

Communism is the purest form of democracy and information is the key to it’s success. Barack Obama was voted into power thanks to a number of promises he made about upholding freedoms and avoiding war. During his term he has broken most, if not all of those promises . The people of the United States didn’t necessarily vote for Obama, they voted for liberties and peace and they assumed Obama would deliver.

I firmly believe that the path to a resource based global socio-economic system lies in the opening up of information. Absolute equality coupled with free information and advanced technology are the key to the success of the communist ideals that have failed many times in the past. It's one thing to design a sustainable system for future generations but it's a whole new game when trying to plot a path to get there. I've come up with what i believe is a plausible option for the transition from a capitalist, elitist system to a resource based economy.
