Why petty squabbles are irrelevant

So supercomputers depend on superconducting materials which in turn depend on super low temperatures at or near 0K (at least currently). The theory is that once we crack the supercomputer nut we could potentially use it to predict a method of creating superconductors that function at room temperature. That means we can create supercomputers that could potentially sit on your desk top. It's the 1970's again 😄

Equality as a viable alternative to equity

We tend to structure human society according to the rules of "survival of the fittest". This may have been necessary for us over the millennia and it may arguably still be necessary for us right now but at some point we need to take advantage of our analytical conciousness and properly design an efficient society.

I'm a cyborg

As of today i am officially a cyborg. After flirting with death a few times over the past few weeks, my family, my cardiologist and myself have decided that something had to be done about the gods' sloppy workmanship.

Scientific theory is not opinion

When scientists and engineers hear phrases like "i believe" or "i have faith" what they're really hearing is "i don't have enough evidence but i'm not willing to keep searching so i'm taking a short cut and jumping to the nearest conclusion".

Information vs Violence

Don't let Barnaby Jack 's death be in vain. We need a global recall of wireless life sustaining devices like insulin pumps, pacemakers and defibrillators. The software on these devices must be completely open source so that third parties are able to review and patch the inevitable vulnerabilities.

You want communism, you just don't realise it

Anyone who claims to be against communism is either misinformed, irrational or simply apathetic. Not wanting to live in a free, equal and abundant society is akin to not wanting to live a healthy life. Apathy may be more inviting than the effort required for good health but even the apathetic acknowledge the trade-offs.

The Societal Singularity

The word Singularity is to technology as the word Utopia is to society. Additionally, society and technology are inseparable. An absolute Utopia will never exist, likewise the Singularity is not an end, it's simply a new plateau. Once we reach the Singularity the world will be profoundly different, we'll be at whole new level of existence. Issues of health, poverty, politics, etcetera will be gone but we'll face a whole new set of challenges.

Utopia

Sometimes i want nothing more than to see the free market system burn but my impatience is unwarranted, the current system needs to run its course but it's end is inevitable. The financial industry, the legal industry, the arms industry, etcetera will all eventually disappear, not by force but through natural and predictable obsolescence.

A Profound Understanding of Technology

The rate of technological growth is very predictable and is exponential. To draw a correlation; the Mayan calendar is understood to be a measure of significant technological events with an exponential decrease in interval time. This almost immediately disproves the man-in-the-sky idea of god because once we have successfully reverse engineered the human body we will be able to make vast performance improvements. The predictability of technology also simultaneously proves that there is some kind of divine plan at work. The machines will eventually take over but we won't be separate from them, we will become self-engineered, bio-mechanical, super intelligent beings. The singularity is upon us :D

Freedom of Information

I firmly believe that the path to a resource based global socio-economic system lies in the opening up of information. Absolute equality coupled with free information and advanced technology are the key to the success of the communist ideals that have failed many times in the past. It's one thing to design a sustainable system for future generations but it's a whole new game when trying to plot a path to get there. I've come up with what i believe is a plausible option for the transition from a capitalist, elitist system to a resource based economy.
