One might expect Tim Burton to be the director to effectively bring the strange world of Lewis Carol to life but let’s be honest; there is no one better accustomed to strange psychology than Marilyn Manson. “Phantasmagoria: The Visions Of Lewis Carroll” is a controversial film that Manson has been working on for over 6 years and despite the project being officially “cancelled” there is talk on the net of an immanent release.
Manson has stated that the premier of his movie will be “very unconventional” and that the official Marylin Manson website will play an important role in the delivery of the film. Sticking with the unconventional; the trailer for the movie has very explicit and disturbing imagery and other than the intentional controversy it was apparently well received. Manson tries to redefine the horror genre by revisiting the Hitchcock-style psychological aspect of horror where fear stems more from what goes unseen.
The cast includes Manson himself, Lily Cole, Evan Rachel Wood and Tilda Swinton. Not much has been released about the plot other than the fact that it explores the nightmares and dark mind of Lewis Caroll.
